Lakes and Landscaping Updates

 

The lakes are looking much better. This is a slow process as the situation with our lakes was horrendous. It took years to get in that condition, change will not happen overnight. With the summer rains we should see them full and thriving again soon. The birds, turtles and other wild life have returned.

 

The landscapers have begun treating the lawns for weeds on the west side of Via Flora. A few years back, the homeowners on the west side of Via Flora requested that a different type of weed killer be used. They were advised at the time that this type of product was not was effective. Now our lawns are full of weeds. While there are some weeds on the east side of Via Flora, it is nothing like what is present on the west side. There will be a reapplication. Once this is completed, replenishment of grass will begin.

Our community is finally receiving necessary maintenance. Over the years our infrastructure has not been a top priority. Through a thorough research and vetting process our needs were determined and a company was chosen to help us correct the situation. Our storm drains are the first of many improvements. The company doing the work is Aegion. We hired them to provide all the equipment to plug off , pump down, clean and teevise all our pipes and boxes in our community. When the work is completed we will get a detailed report on what pipes are bad and need attention. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

The vandalism at the pool will not be tolerated. We try to provide a pleasant environment for our residents. We have cameras at the pool. We know who the perpetrators are. 

Per our Plat Rules and Regulations, all planned enhancements to the outside of your unit must be submitted the Architecture committee for approval.

DVP1 now has an active Facebook page. I noticed that some of my neighbors sent friend requests to my personal page, so I know that Facebook is a medium that is used by our neighbors. This is a public page. No Plat business will be discussed on this forum. This is simply another way for us to get information to our homeowners and allow them to interact.
