Since it’s inception, Community Engagement and the Fun Committee have been self-funded. We the committee members provide for the events that our community enjoys. We do however have patrons. Neighbors that donate time, products from our Amazon Wish List and money. Some have anonymously left things on my front porch. We are grateful to you all. We have asked the HOA Board to include a small amount for the Fun Committee in its budget for next year. We are waiting on a reply. In order to continue our work, we depend on our neighbor’s support. Please won’t you donate today?

Delray Villas Plat 1 offers water aerobics classes 3 day a week and two Saturdays a month. It is free to all Plat 1 homeowners. Each homeowner can bring one guest from another Plat or a guest of their choosing. Any of the other 4 Plats homeowners that wish to join our Plats classes will be charged to come to our classes if unaccompanied by a Plat 1 resident. The fee is $5 per class due in cash at time of class.
All proceeds go to support the Fun Committee.

Thanks to one of our neighbors, the Fun Committee now has a real sound system! Our movie nights are sure to be awesome now. We will also now be able to have Karaoke at the pool as well. That’s community involvement in action!
COMING EVENTS
All Fun Committee Social Events are free of charge unless otherwise noted. These events are paid for by the generous donations of our committee members and our community patrons. Our events are always weather permitting due to the community pool area being our venue.
Community Game Nights
There have been a few suggestions for game nights. I noticed interest in Corn Hole at the Spring Fling. One of our snow bird neighbors purchased a Tournament style Corn Hole game as a gift to the community. In addition, Tom Clark also has a regulation game. With that said, who’s up for an early evening of fun by the pool for a Corn Hole Tournament?
Bring your “A” game, get some exercise and socialize with your neighbors.

This free, fun community activity is now being enjoyed three days a week (weather permitting). “Angel” the instructor, is engaging, and brings an exuberant spirit to each class. Check the Plat calendar for dates and times, come out and get your exercise on! While this is a Plat 1 activity, each plat member is allowed one guest from another plat should they so desire.
The Fun Committee has purchased pool noodles for use by any one at the pool whether for the aerobics class or not. Please make sure you put them back in the noodle holder when you’re done with it.

Thank you to those that came out to our event. While the first Delray Villas Plat 1 Movie Night was not exactly what we anticipated, we learned something. Our community enjoys being together, no matter what! This was our first attempt, and we have learned what to do and what not to do. Our next movie night will be better! One of our neighbors has donated to help the Fun Committee get a Bluetooth outdoor speaker system. Our 50/50 raffle was won by Ellen Hoffman, she generously donated her winnings to the Fun Committee. Thank You Ellen!! Thank you to Tom Clark and Carl Malysz for volunteering, that’s community involvement in action!

Each and everyone of us has a special gift or talent. We, the members of the Fun Committee are using our life skills to enhance not only our own lives , but the lives of our neighbors here in Delray Villas Plat 1. Our Community Engagement initiative encourages our neighbors to get involved in their community. We want everyone to see that they don't have to be on the HOA Board to make a difference. Each of us can be the change we want to see in our community.
