COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Our Mission
The mission of "Community Engagement" is to bring Delray Villas Plat 1 together as an inclusive, thriving, active 55+ community. A community where we know and care for our neighbors. A community where we take pride in our homes as well as our common areas. And a neighborhood that works together to achieve common goals.
GIVING BACK
Community Engagement has started a campaign to give back to those around us. We will be collecting non perishable food items as well as personal care items. Socks, diapers, feminine care, soaps and lotions. We are currently vetting charities to see where the need is greatest. There will be bins at the Plat 1 pool starting October 1 2023. The bins will be emptied as they fill up and on November 16th 2023 the collected goods will be taken to the designated charity. We know that things are a bit strained for all of us, but we are all truly blessed. Please, wont you give to those less fortunate? Below I've added a helpful pdf. These are things that people need but are too often forgotten.
Our
“Delray Villas Gives Back”
initiative was a great success!
Thank you to all who donated.
The charity we chose is CROS Ministries. They serve all of Palm Beach County. They have a food pantry and a soup kitchen for the homeless here in Delray Beach. They also serve churches and temples here in our local community.
Our donation of almost 250lbs of food and other items was picked up on Nov 29 2023. Some donations had to be discarded due to being expired. Keeping in mind that homelessness and food insecurity never take a holiday, Community Engagement and the "Special Advisors to the President have partnered with CROS Ministries and will donate on a continuing basis. CROS Ministries will be bring a branded receptacle which will be at the DVP1 pool for continued donations. They will pick up the donations as we fill it.
Thank you to our neighbors, Tammy Stanborough for her design expertise and to Nelson Morciglio for purchasing the posts and enlisting Mark to help in the installation of the much-needed duck crossing signs on Via Flora
Community Engagement sends our collective heartfelt thanks to each and every one who has called, texted and emailed us to say how pleased you are at what we’re doing in the community. Your words of encouragement mean the world to us. We are guided by our desire to make Delray Villas Plat 1 an awesome place to live. We started with an idea, our neighbors have not disappointed. You have come together as a neighborhood! You have offered time, experience skills, or donated to the Fun Committee.
THANK YOU!!! WE APPRECIATE YOU!!
DVP1 Community Engagement
We all love our fur babies. They are our companions, giving us unconditional love. As responsible pet parents we must pick-up after them, it is our duty. Feceses is dangerous to our babies. Palm Beach County has rules that must be obeyed. If broken there are fines. With the advances in technology, most homeowners now have video surveillance either via cameras or ring doorbells. We’ve seen evidence of homeowners not picking up behind their babies. Some are not familiar to us as Plat 1 homeowners. But sadly, some are. These rules are clearly stated in our Plat rules as well as Delray Villas as a whole. The Delray Villas Plat 1 HOA board has the authority to enforce the rules, issue violations and fines to homeowners. Please don’t let it come to this.
POOL GATE SAFETY
Safety in our Plat pool area is paramount. The pool area gate is what keeps us safe. Propping the gate open is unsafe. Community Engagement has received an email reporting people in our pool after dark. There are cameras at the pool. We’re reviewing the video footage to verify this claim. The Special Advisors to the President are currently working on a solution to the issue of the locking system on the gate.
Community Engagement News
As our committee’s name suggests, “Community Engagement” is what we’re all about. Delray Villas Plat 1 is a great place to live, with some truly awesome neighbors. We are here to provide social activities through our Fun Committee and we also foster a greater sense of community with communications via our new website, our new Community Access Channel (Channel 99), our dedicated phone line and email. Delray Villas Plat 1 is part of the Delray Villas Rec Assn. We are free to use the facilities and join in on their outings and social events as we pay for this in our monthly maintenance. Community Engagement has a link to the Rec Assn website on the Delray Villas Plat 1 website. We also have 7 slides currently dedicated to the Rec Assn on our new community access (Channel 99). Delray Villas Plat 1 Community Engagement does not have the authority to sanction any Rec Assn club or event requests. Therefore, we will not promote them as Plat 1 activities. As we’re updated by the Rec Assn webmaster, we’ll be updating the access channel so our homeowners will be current on Rec Assn happenings and events. Delray Villas Plat 1 Community Engagement takes no responsibility for any incorrect information regarding Rec Assn news or information. Delray Villas Plat 1 has its own social activities. Our events are for our residents and a guest they invite. Our plat activities are not governed by the REC Board, we act at the pleasure of the Delray Villas Plat 1 HOA Board. We strive to provide fun entertainment and social activities for our residents. Keeping in mind that some of our residents attend Rec Assn activities, we purposefully schedule our events as not to conflict with theirs. This gives our residents the opportunity to enjoy all that Delray Villas Communities as a whole has to offer. Community Engagement and the Fun Committee will keep our neighbors updated on all Delray Villas Plat 1 community news through the website, access channel and email.
COYOTE WARNING AND INFORMATION
HAPPENING AROUND THE PLAT
The HOA Board has approved the purchase of the new Delray Villas Plat 1 Signs! The design has been approved, and the project is moving forward. Community Engagement is working with the landscaper to get the perfect low maintenance plants to surround the signs. By using our contracted landscaper, it saves the HOA money, as we can get the plants at cost.
Pool Keys
A key is necessary to enter the DV-P1 pool area. All homeowners should have a key to the pool. If you do not have a key, please reach out to Community Engagement on the contact page and a key will be provided. You will not be charged for this first key. You will however have to sign for it. Any replacement key will be $15 for each occurrence.
Our community is beautiful. We are currently working on beautification projects in our common areas. Our homeowners care about their property and have poured time and energy into making their gardens pleasing to the eye. We'll be showcasing homes around that neighborhood as well as beautiful images of our community in our photo gallery below. Please feel free to submit any photos to us that you feel show the uniqueness of the community that we call home.
